Ordering of Repeat Medications

From 4th July 2016 we will no longer accept prescription requests from the Chemist.  You can only order medication by

1.  Placing your repeat medication slip in the box located in the waiting area

2.  Order online via our practice website at www.burnbankmedicalcentre.co.uk

3.  Telephoning our new prescription voicemail system 01698 456622 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

It is estimated that over £15 million pounds worth of prescribed medication in Scotland is wasted each year.  We all have a part to play in reducing this.

 

Failure to Attend Appointments

PLEASE BE AWARE IF YOU FAIL TO ATTEND AN APPOINTMENT YOU WILL BE SENT A LETTER ADVISING YOU OF SAME.  SHOULD YOU FAIL TO ATTEND 3 TIMES WITHIN A YEAR YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM OUR PRACTICE LIST AND ASKED TO REGISTER WITH ANOTHER PRACTICE.

Maternity Services

NHS Lanarkshire maternity services are based at Wishaw University Hospital. They provide comprehensive antenatal, birthing and postnatal care. 

If you are pregnant, you do not need to wait to see a GP. Please come to reception and request a Maternity Pack. This contains all the information you require to self-refer to the Midwives. 

Patients can self-refer to the Early Pregnancy Unit on 01698 366 217 if they have had a positive pregnancy test, experiencing abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding.

Termination of Pregnancy 

If you decide you cannot continue with the pregnancy, it is important to seek advice quickly. You do not need to contact your GP. Patients can make their own appointment by calling the Women's Health Unit self-referral line on 01698 366 926. This line is open Monday - Friday 9am to 3pm.
